Static Shield + Akismet

Coded compatibility profile

Akismet isn't a plugin with a public page or route of its own — it's a spam-filtering engine that hooks into whatever submission path already exists on this site, whether that's WordPress core comments or a bridged form plugin like Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, or WPForms. Its relevance is entirely conditional: if nothing on this site accepts public comments or bridged form submissions, Akismet has nothing to do.

Recommended mode

Static + Bridges

Static behavior

Nothing of Akismet's own — it has no page or fragment to render. Whatever page hosts the comment form or bridged form is served static exactly as that integration's own profile describes.

Dynamic behavior

None — spam checking is classified as bridged rather than dynamic; the admin stats screen and dashboard widget are private, logged-in-only, with no public output at all.

Bridges & routes

None of its own — Akismet declares no route to bridge. It plugs into whichever route already owns the actual submission (WordPress core comments, or a bridged form plugin's own endpoint); see that plugin's own integration page for its bridge details.

Setup

No special setup — detected automatically once active. Its relevance depends entirely on whether comments or a bridged form plugin are actually live on this site.

Limitations

This only does anything if something on this site actually accepts public submissions — live comments, or a bridged form plugin. This adapter can't determine that from static analysis alone, so treat the classification as conditional rather than a blanket guarantee: on a site with comments closed and no bridged form plugin active, Akismet is effectively inert. Spam checking also calls Akismet's own cloud API on every submission, so whichever route owns the actual submission needs its own sensible timeout rather than waiting indefinitely on Akismet's response.
